From 9 August 2011 the Bank Of England accounts will not be available to use to make payment to HM Revenue and Customs. Any payments sent to the Bank Of England will be refused by the banking system and returned to your bank.

Tax Credits Renewal Deadline 31 July 2011
A&C Chartered Accountants would like to remind you that it is not too late for Tax Claimants to renew their claims. The deadline, however, is 31 July 2011.
We would recommend that at this late stage to renew your cliaim by telephone.

Another Day Another Result
A&C Chartered Accountants are pleased to announce that Lisa Carrick has just passed her most recent tax and accounting exam. Lisa joined A&C Chartered Accountants recently to train for her AAT qualifications and is well on her way to acheiving her target. Just one more exam and she will gain her Intermediate Level and then has only one more year to qualification.
All the team are extremely happy for Lisa and wish her well for the future.
VAT returns need to be filed online
A reminder to let you know that since 1 April 2010 most VAT registered businesses had to file their VAT returns online and pay any VAT owed electronically. From April 2012 this will be mandatory for all. At A&C Chartered Accountants we can file VAT returns online for you and advise you the best method to pay your VAT.
New advisory fuel rates
The Tax Office publish approved ‘ advisory fuel rates ‘ which apply where employers reimburse employees for business travel in their company cars, and where employees reimburse the cost of fuel used for private use travel in a company car where fuel is provided by the employer. The rates effective from 1 June 2011 can be found at www.hmrc.gov.uk/cars/advisory_fuel_current.htm
The rates are updated four times and any changes will take effect on 1 March, 1 June, 1 September and 1 December.
